Qualification criteria and policy

Senior Club Coaches are certified to undertake coaching activities for all players.

Senior Club Coaches must agree to abide by the Pickleball Scotland Safeguarding policy and Code of Conduct.

Failure to comply with or uphold the above criteria for the Senior Club Coach role may result in disciplinary action or suspension.

Sports Coach Insurance

Pickleball Scotland strongly recommends that coaches have appropriate insurance to protect against claims of negligence from clients or public accidents, covering legal fees and damages, and to safeguard their own equipment and personal finances from injuries or financial loss during coaching sessions. Policies typically include public liability insurance for accidental harm to others, professional indemnity insurance for mistakes or poor advice leading to injury, and optional coverage for equipment and personal accident.

Pickleball Scotland does not endorse any specific policy or provider, however if you are starting to explore options you could start by looking at the Multi Sports Insurance package from UK Coaching. There are many other providers in the market and coaches should consider which cover is right for them.
